Black Bear Lodge overlooks Shadow Mountain Lake with views of Rocky Mountain National Park and the Arapahoe National Forest. There are many activities in the area for summer and winter visitors.
Winter Activities
GRAND LAKE is the“Snowmobile Capital of Colorado"

“It’s AWESOME folks!" There are over 130 miles of snowmobiling trails ranging from tracks through the forest to wide-open mountain meadows surrounded by the beautiful Rocky Mountains. |
Cross - country skiing and Ice fishing are available nearby, along with downhill skiing and snowboarding at Sol Vista Ski Area (20 miles away) and at Winter Park Ski Area (35 minutes away).
Summer Activities
| In the summertime, you will be able to go fishing,
boating, horseback riding, or hiking on any of several trails, all
of which are located within minutes of our lodge. Our lodge offers swimming in our outdoor heated pool, weather permitting, from June 1st through Labor Day. We offer an outdoor hot tub and an indoor hot tub and sauna. Also located nearby is one of the finest golf courses available. Picnic tables, grills, swing sets and horseshoes are available on the Black Bear property for our guests. |
